Woodrow Griffin Sr., lovingly known to all as "Woody," peacefully entered eternal rest to be with his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, May 26, 2026. Born in Walterboro, South Carolina, on May 2, 1963, Woodrow was the cherished son of the late James and Annette Griffin-James.
Woodrow accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior, from Bishop David Freeman at The Now Church in Charleston, SC. He proudly completed his education within the Colleton County Public School System of Walterboro, earning his High School Diploma. He worked as a Foreman at a local tree company where he was not just an employee but a leader and a dependable man.
He was known for his funny personality and the joy he brought to others. He carried himself with strength and kindness leaving a lasting impact on everyone who knew and loved him. Woodrow had a way of making everyone feel welcomed and appreciated. While his presence will be heavily missed, his memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Annette Griffin- James, his beloved grand-parents , and his uncle Robert.
He leaves behind his beloved children: Woodrow Griffin Jr., Tyiesha Morris (Willie), Dexter Griffin, and Shameka Griffin. 13 adored grandchildren and 1 precious great-grandchild. Along with 3 aunts, JoAnn, Brenda, and Linda, and cousins and dear friends.
