Thomas L Ackerman, known to most as “Bubba” was born February 10, 1938, in Cottageville SC to Melissa Brown Ackerman and Angus Ackerman, who both proceeded him in death.
He departed from this earthly life on January 16, 2026 in Charleston SC at White Oak Manor with his loved ones by his side. He attended Colleton County Schools systems until he made the decision to join the Army in the year of 1956. After serving his time in the Army, he made a career choice to be a Truck Driver for different industries, which he enjoyed and did for many years.
He leaves to cherish his memories: wife Annie E. Ackerman, three daughters, Arlene B. Ackerman-Watson (Anthony) Summerville SC, Audrey Ackerman Williams (Derrick), Savannah Ga and Latisha O Ackerman, Ladson SC and two stepchildren Kezia Lee, Dorchester SC and Daniel Lee, Bronx NY and two sons that preceded him in death, Laury Ackerman Jr and Cedric Ackerman.
Siblings: Bunice Geddis,(Henry preceded in death), Adams Run, SC, Helen Ackerman, Charlotte SC, Amos Ackerman (Willie Mae)Columbia SC, Norris McDonald Syracuse NY Siblings that Preceded him in death: Catherine Hogan(Henry) Augusta Ga, Gloria Jean Tenor Cottageville SC, Howard Angus Ackerman(Marie)Vienna MD, Annie Lou Johnson(Garland) Centralia IL Four sister-in-laws: Pearl Edwards (Marvin preceded in death) Summerville SC, Deloris Simmons (Legare preceded in death) Summerville SC , Patricia Harper Atlanta,Ga and Cynthia Hicks, Charleston SC; Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, and a host of family and family friends who will miss his quirky sense of humor. He was known by many and will truly be missed.
