Samuel Goff, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, departed from this life on September 6, 2025, in his hometown of Walterboro, SC, at the age of 78. Born on March 28, 1947, Samuel was the cherished son of Robert and Dolly Goff.
Samuel was a graduate of Ruffin High School and served valiantly in the Vietnam War. He retired from CCX Fiberglass/ New York Wire, where his exceptional work ethic was admired by all. A car enthusiast, he could often be found under the hood of a vehicle working on the transmission, a passion that extended to his personal life as well. In his leisure time, he found joy in fishing, hunting, and generally enjoying the great outdoors.
Always outspoken, Samuel lived his life with no regrets and with a passion that was contagious. He was a proud founding member of the Power of Faith Deliverance Ministry, a testament to his deep and unwavering faith. Of all his accomplishments, he was most proud of his children and grandchildren, who were his greatest joy and the light of his life.
He is preceded in death by his parents Robert and Dolly Goff, brothers Maxwell Samuels, James Goff, and Robert Goff, and his son Stephen Goff. Samuel leaves behind his loving wife of over 55 years, Nancy Parnell Goff, and his devoted children and grandchildren Antoinette "Toni" Parnell, Karen (Detrick) Sligh, Jermel (Marquita) Murdaugh, Alexis Parnell, Ciaran Sligh, Stephen Daniel Sligh, Makenzie Murdaugh, Cooper Murdaugh, and Zakeriah Murdaugh. He is also survived by his siblings Dorothy Harrison, Mary Goff, and Joseph (Sarah) Goff, and sisters-in-law Patricia Bassett, Ruby Jones, Kathleen Weans, Viola Goff, Rosebud (Ramone) Feliciano and Dorothy Goff.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to his caregivers over the past few years, Delores Owens, Mary Wiggins, and Anthony Wiggins and extend a special thank you to his nephew James Goff Jr and nieces Janay Parnell and Terri Farmer. He received exceptional care from the Veterans Administration and Agape.
Samuel will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for his unwavering strength, his love for family, and his passion for life. He left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew him, and his spirit will continue to live on through his loved ones.
