Russell Kenneth (“BoBo”) Smalls, Sr.

Russell Kenneth Smalls, Sr. was born January 20, 1954, in Walterboro, South Carolina to George Eddie Smalls and Nancy Shider Smalls. 

He attended Gibbs High School and was the owner/operator of Ken’s Top Shop for 47 years. He was a member of Southside Tabernacle Baptist Church located in St. Petersburg, Florida. Russell loved to fish, golf, and spend time with family. 

Russell Kenneth Smalls, Sr. departed this life on May 14, 2024, St. Petersburg, Florida. 

He was preceded in death by his father, George Eddie Smalls, mother, Nancy Shider Smalls , son, Leon Gipson, daughter, Maria Gipson, brothers, Alfred Smalls, Alphonso Smalls and Willie Hodges and sisters, Cloie Smalls and Judy Bennett. 

He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 48 years, Mary Honor Smalls; his son Russell Kenneth Smalls, Jr. (Courtney); his daughter, Sarah Smalls; his brother, Willie Davis (Peggie) of Smoaks, SC; his sisters, Eula Harris, and Annette Atkins, both of Brooklyn, NY and Joeann Bryant Drain of Smoaks, SC; Sisters-in-law, Brendolyn Cason and Pearl Combs; Grandchildren, Nyir Smalls,Russell Savonn Smalls, Kenneth Sothea Smalls, Jarrell Middleton, Janece Middleton, LaShey Williams, Cory Davis Gipson, and Kenneth Lee Smalls; Great-grandchildren, Mariah Middleton and four others living out of state; and a host of nieces and nephews.
