Ms. Rosemary Grant Robertson was born January 29, 1962, in Walterboro, S.C. The 6th daughter of 7 girls and the 9th child of 10 children born to the Mary M. Dukes Washington-Grant and Herbert Lee Grant who both preceded her in death. She was called to rest, after a brief illness, in the home, on Tuesday, July 12, 2022.
Rosemary was educated in the Public Schools of Colleton County. Rosemary was very skillful at crocheting and a very talented artist at a very early age. She often times made handmade gifts for her family and friends. Her gifts were unique because she would incorporate designs to the personality of the receiver of the gifts. Walterboro was home for Rosemary, though she had traveled extensively with her companion Mr. Lester Robertson, her high school sweetheart.
Preceding her in death: Her Loving Mother-in-Law, Mrs. Pearl Robertson-Washington, and her Father-in-Law, Mr. Lester Robertson I, Daughter Kimberly K. Grant-Nixon, and her Son Saa’id “keem” Robertson: Sister-in-Laws Barbara Nutt and Gloria Jean Sims. Siblings: Cynthia (“Sissy”) Charity, and Sonya L. Grant-Smith, Ronald (“Bobby”) Washington,James E. (“Joe Pete”) Washington, and Clifford Grant.
Rosemary leaves behind to cherish her precious memories: Her loving, loyal, devoted, and supportive companion of 47 years Mr. Lester Robertson II, Her children: Himisi Robertson, Tauhidah Salaam, Lester Robertson III and a Son-In-Law Peter Nixon II; Her siblings: Mrs. Annie M. E. Siders (Franklin NJ), of Walterboro: Jayanti M. Pernelle Washington, Pamala A. White (James), Harriet L. Washington and Johnnie L. Washington; Brother-in-Laws James Charity and James Smith. A Special Niece & best friend Tara L. Siders. Adult Grandchildren: Keion Daniels, Jameek Daniels, Peter Nixon III (Markiaya), Malaysia D. Nixon, Alexis Nixon, Hidea Robertson, De’angelo Manigo, De ‘Asia Manigo, De’Nesha Manigo. Hidea Robertson, Princess Robertson, Bryson Fishburne , Himisi Robertson Jr. Ay'eshia Grant, Ah'mar Grant Powell, A'shirah Powell, Novah Robertson . A host of other Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
