Mrs. Rosella H. Simmons was born April 7, 1939 in Jacksonboro, SC. She was the daughter of The late “Joe Hamilton and the late Estella Bishop Holmes”. Sis. Simmons transitioned on September 03, 2021 at Colleton Medical Center, Walterboro, S.C.
Education and Work History
Sister Simmons received her education in the Public Schools in Jacksonboro, S.C. She enjoyed working and soon began a career of service as a Caretaker for Social Services for many years.
Then she continued her career of service as a Loving Nanny, yielding her service to the “Bonds, Watry, and the McMillan families respectfully. Shortly afterwards she retired in 2003 to take care for her grandson.
Christianity
Sister Simmons was a member of Bethel A.M. E. Church which she joined at an early age and served on many boards throughout the years.
She was preceded in death by her husband Harold Simmons, son Troy Farmer Sr., and daughter Angela M. Farmer.
She is survived by one lovely sister Ethel Mae Brown (The Late David) Adams Run, S.C., Edward C. Holmes (Vonda) Jacksonboro, S.C., Verneaser J. Holmes, Jacksonboro, S.C., Sonta P. Allen (Joe) Charleston, S. C., Theodocia A. Shabazz (Mustafa) Winston Salem, N.C., Mark A. Washington (Marlene) Adams Run, S.C., Hazel D. Simmons Jacksonboro, S.C., Twenty-Five Grandchildren, host of Great and Great Grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and Godson Curtis Mitchell.
Two special nieces Burnethel Gillam and Miriam Brown, and two special nephews Frankie C. Holmes and Joseph Holmes.
