Ronnie Chisolm, Sr. Obituary

Mr. Ronnie Dwane Chisolm Sr. was born to the late Betty Dantzler October 15, 1955, in Charleston SC. He received his high school diploma from Walterboro high school in 1973. After graduation Ronnie entered the Army where he served seven years. While in the army Ronnie received several awards including the Next Defense Service Medal, Overseas Ribbon, and the Good Conduct Medal. He was also an avid boxer and basketball player. Ronnie was employed by Volvo as a security officer at the time of his death. He retired as a captain from the MacDougall Correctional Institution after serving over twenty-nine years. While there he was also a part of the Rapid Response Team. He was also employed by Lieber Correction Institution prior to being employed with MacDougall Correctional Institution.

Ronnie’s love for riding motorcycles gave him the opportunity to become a proud and well-respected member of the well-known bike club the “Thunder Guards.” He was also an excellent pool player and was awarded the 2022 Eight Ball City Cup.

Ronnie, affectionately known as “Smokey” was preceded in death by his father, two sisters, Barbara Jean Chisolm and Sharon Gwynette Daniels. Two brothers, Michael Dantzler and Ernest Dantzler. He leaves to cherish his memories his daughter, Tarnicia Chisolm of Brooklyn, NY.  His sons, Ronnie Chisolm Jr. of Florida, Ronnell Edwards of Boston Massachusetts, and Aaron Chisolm of Summerville, SC. Two brothers, Greg Dantzler of Greenville SC, and Fredrick Dantzler (Tiffany). One sister, Evangelist Janet Dantzler Goings. Two aunts, Gladys Moorer of North Charleston SC, Reverend Harriet Miller of Summerville SC. Seven grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
