Richmond Bright Obituary

On September 13th, 1943 in Walterboro, South Carolina, a son of the late Mr. Benjamin Bohemia Bright and Pauline Bright was blessed with a handsome baby boy. They named him Richmond Dean Bright. He transitioned this earthen vessel on Saturday September 16, 2023 at his residence.

Richmond was educated in Colleton County School District. After graduating from Colleton High School. He worked at Ideal Cleaners pressing and delivering clothes along with  landscaping. Later in life, "Pee Wee" moved to Cleveland Ohio, where he worked for United Airlines as a computer specialist, until he became ill and his father wanted him to come back home.

Richmond was a lifetime member of Isaiah United Methodist Church, where he served faithfully and was involved in the United Methodist Men's Ministry, the Usher's Board, served as a trustee and anything that he was  asked to do. COVID may have closed Isaiah United Methodist Chuch doors, but not his love to hear God's word. In 2020, he started attending JudahTemple of Deliverance under the leadership of Bishop Anthony Myers to quench his spiritual thirst.

Richmond was preceded in death by by his brother Benjamin Bright and sisters Annette Bright-Richardson and Sallie Bright-Nichols

Richmond leaves to cherish his legacy a devoted and caring family, One son Eric Dean Bright Cleveland, Ohio, One Brother, Donald (Mary) Bright of Walterboro, SC, Sisters Carolyn B. Winn of Walterboro, SC, Louise P. Bowser of San Francisco, California, Sherry (Michael) Campbell of Spotsylvania, Virginia, Linda (David) McDaniels of Warrenton, Virginia; Karen Ferguson (Lesley Neptune) Walterboro, SC. A sister in law Don Bright, Cleveland, Ohio. Aunt/Cousin Retha McKenzie, of Walterboro, SC Associated stepmother, Cynthia Bright of Los Angeles, CA. His extended family; Yvonne Williams, Brian (Iris) Finley, Mary G Ellison, Ella Ceaser, Easterlin (Maggie) Bowman, Lawrence Bassett, Mary Smalls, Avis Hardy, Robert Hardy, Geraldine Bassett, Donovan Edwards, Frances Whittington, Horace (Jeanie) Robertson family, Herman (Anna) Bright, Josiah Levine, John (Sharon) Larkin George (Lorriane) Oliver, Corey Robertson, Christopher Drawdy, Shane (Elizabeth) Robertson.
