Richmond was educated in Colleton County School District. After graduating from Colleton High School. He worked at Ideal Cleaners pressing and delivering clothes along with landscaping. Later in life, "Pee Wee" moved to Cleveland Ohio, where he worked for United Airlines as a computer specialist, until he became ill and his father wanted him to come back home.
