It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Richard “Dick” H. Killinger, age 72, who peacefully departed this life due to complications from pneumonia. He was preceded in death by his mother, Viola Klaras; his sister, Evelyn L Ward and his brother- in -law Jack Ward. A resident of the Veterans Victory House in Walterboro, SC. Richard touched many lives with his warm spirit and unwavering kindness.

Born and raised in Lycoming County, PA. Richard graduated from Jersey Shore High School in 1971, where his gentle nature and joyful spirit endeared him to many. Following his graduation, he honorably served in the United States Army as a medical technician, embodying his lifelong dedication to helping others.

Richards love for family was evident in everything he did. He cherished spending time with his sister and cousins in the serene mountains of English Center, PA where he created countless memories that will be forever treasured. A devout member of his church, he dedicated much of his time to studying the Bible, reflecting his deep faith and commitment to his beliefs.

An avid music lover, Richard had a particular fondness for the Carpenters and the hits of the 1970s. He would often entertain friends and family with spirited sing-alongs, filling rooms with laughter and joy. He most enjoyed entertainment as a movie buff, watching was a past time…his favorites included Westerns such as Gunsmoke, Bonaza and musicals especially Hairspray. On most days, you could find him enjoying a hearty meal at the Texas Restaurant in Lock Haven, PA where his friendly demeanor and warm smile made him a beloved regular.

Richard was not only a devoted family member but also a cherished friend, known for his selflessness and generous heart.

He was an avid supporter of local sports, proudly cheering for the Jersey Shore Bull Dogs, Philadelphia Phillies, and Philadelphia Eagles.

Richard H Killinger leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and kindness. He is survived by his beloved niece Bobbie Jo Ward, husband Paul Stubblefield of Charleston, SC and nephew Keith Ward of Georgetown, SC who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
