Odda Jenkins Obituary

Odda L. Jenkins, the youngest daughter of the late Vernon and Gridelda Redish Jenkins, was born November 29, 1956 in Brooklyn, NY. After an extended illness, our heavenly father saw fit to call her home November 9, 2025.

She received her formal education in the public schools of New York until her parents relocated to South Carolina in 1972. She graduated with the Ruffin High School class of 1975. She furthered her studies and received her associates degree from Orangeburg Technical College and attended Claflin University where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. She was employed as a medical office assistant, phlebotomist and a social worker. She was a member of the Lovely Hill Baptist Church of Smoaks, SC where she participated on the adult choir and usher board.

Odda loved spoiling and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also loved teasing her daughters about her love for her sisters whom she affectionately referred to as the “Brooklyn 6”. Odda enjoyed reading, watching crime and medical shows and a variety of games on her tablet. She had a quick witted sarcastic style sense of humor that she favorably used on those she loved.

Odda was preceded in death by her parents, older sister Elease Williamson, and special nephew Rasheen Bryant aka ‘Roc’.

She leaves to cherish her memories: two daughters; Tabitha Jenkins of Brooklyn, NY, Tamarah(Paul) Johnson of Smoaks, SC, one favorite son; Terrance Jenkins of Orangeburg, SC; Grandchildren: Antonio (Nicole) Hodges, Jahaad (Tyra)Brown, TaShima Parker, Tamia Jenkins, Tanaysha Jenkins, Kaylah Gilmore, Taylen Jenkins, Taylor Jenkins, Tristan Jenkins, Hillary Johnson, Paul Johnson, Jacobi Johnson: Five great-grand: Kashton Jenkins, Zane Brown, Kennedy Hodges, Antonio Jererimiah Hodges and Zuri Brown.
