  The Obituary    
     On May 24th, 1963 Jasper County, South Carolina, our beloved Muhammad Aboullah Al-Hakim (Bernard) was born to the late Mrs. Ella Mae Chaney and Ben Riley. Muhammad grew up in the Community of Pocotaligo, South Carolina.

    He received his education in the Jasper County Public School Systems. Muhammad began his career as a dry wall finisher in the state of South Carolina and Jacksonville, Florida where he last resided. In the course of his life, Muhammad was well-known made many, many friends. The joy of his laughter and the beauty of his smile, shall linger in the hearts and minds of his many acquaintance’s.

    With his departure from this early tabernacle he leaves his family many fond memories. Surely love is eternal and the "light of his love" shall brighten our lives always. The transition from time to eternity came for our beloved Muhammad Al-Hakim (Bernard) on November 2, 2023 in Jacksonville, Florida.

    He was a beloved father of two beautiful daughters, Danielle Cooper of New York City, and Brittany Ford, Pocotaligo, SC along with seven grandchildren Derek, Jr, D'Sani and D'Miya, New York City, Mekhi Ford, Nijay Wright, Elijah Frasier, Pocotaligo, SC He was proceeded in death by Jaquavios Howard.

    His cherished memories will be with us on this side of eternity; Seven sisters and two brothers, Pamela Chaney, Beaufort, SC; Natasha Chaney, Moncks Corner; Patricia Cooper,New York City;Eleanora Green, Pocotaligo, SC;  Le'Sonya Major, Pocotaligo, SC ;Adrian Salters,Pocotaligo, SC and the late Tonya Armstead, Pocotaligo, SC Three brothers, Julian Chaney, Jr. Hampton, SC Jerome Chaney, Pocotaligo, SC and Maurice Chaney, prodeed him in death  SC, Three brother-in-laws; Craig Armstead, Jermain Salters and Otis Major all of Pocotaligo, SC; Two Aunts Ethel Walter (Vincent) and Sadie Pyror of Pocotaligo and Four Uncles of King E, Cooper (Evelyn) Gillisonville, SC, Mariona A Cooper Hilton Head, Lawrence Butler and Alfred Butler of Pocotaligo, SC and Aunt in law, Ella Mae Cooper, Henderson, SC, numerous nieces, nephews and daring friends that include Beverly Parker.
