Monica Marie Bodison

Graveside services will be held on Saturday September 12, 2020 at New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. If it rains, services will be conducted in the santuary. The Reverend Dr. Gerlend Crawford will be the eulogies. Mrs. Monica Marie Bodison was the daughter of James Stephens and the late Linda Garrett.  She was born January 3, 1965 in Colleton County and departed her life on September 4, 2020 at Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro, SC.  

 She was united in holy matrimony to the love of her life, Teddy L. Bodison on July 2 1987.  At an early age, Monica attended school in Boston, MA.  In 1979, she moved to Walterboro where she continued her education at Walterboro High School. She received her diploma and went to further her education at Beaufort Technical College for cosmetology. 

Mrs. Monica worked for many years at Tracy’s Pharmacy and Cato’s in Walterboro, SC. Monica was a loving wife, mother, sister, godmother, aunt cousin (mother to a lot of people) and friend.

When she was in the best of health she loved to cook and bake. She loved "her man" and her family. She always loved to travel.

 She was preceded in death by her mother, great grandfather, father-in-law  aunts, uncles, and one brother. 

 Monica leaves to cherish her lasting memories to her devoted and faithful husband "Her Man". Three children Stephone Bodison Sr. (Sierra), of Spartanburg, SC., Stephanie Bodison, and Teddy L. Bodison of Walterboro. She also raised her sister Donna Garrett of Walterboro. Tonya Chilsom (Earl), Keisha Stephens, Diedre Stephens al of NY. Two brothers: Freddie Garrett Jr. of Spartanburg,SC and Tyrone Stephens (Edith) of Greenpond, SC. 

 Matthew Belford, Maurice Breland (Angie) of Walterboro and a host of other children from Colleton County.  Her father James Stephens of NY, mother-in-law Dorothy Bodison of Walterboro, sister-in-law Jo Dorothy Gray (Keith) of Savannah, GA and a brother-in-law Micheal Bodison of Walterboro.  Her eight grandchildren Ladrius Holmes, Sinyah Bodison, Stephone Bodison Jr., Tajah Bodison, Kadian Johnson, JaQuari Bodison, Calvin and Mari McDonald.  Two goddaughters: AL’Leigh Murray-Young(Antwaun) and Chermarra Ferguson of Walterboro. One godson Savon Tristan Garrett of Walterboro. Two uncles: Malachi Snipes (Janie) of Ruffin, SC and Earnest Washington (Barbara) of Little River, SC.  Special aunt Mille Murray, special friends Kathy McFadden and Sonja Vandyke and special sister Alyssa Bodison of Walterboro, SC.
