Mary Katherine Adams

Ms. Mary “Katherine” Adams, 63 entered peacefully into eternal rest on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at Roper St. Francis in Charleston, SC. She was born June 29,1959. She was the oldest of six sisters. Both of her parents, one sister, and granddaughter preceded her in death. 

Mary, better known as Kat, grew up in Smoaks, SC, where she graduated from Ruffin High School in 1977. She then went on to graduate from Claflin College, with a degree in Early Childhood Education, in 1981. While at Claflin, she became a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. 

 Mary spent over 40 years working in the grocery store industry. She spent numerous years at Walmart, Winn Dixie, Reid’s , Food lion and Bi-Lo, where she gained many co workers that’s became friends and loved her dearly. 

Mary enjoyed baking, cooking, spending time with family, and being a mother to many of the youth she came in contact with. She enjoyed watching the Game Show Network, and she also enjoyed her church family and being a committed member of Mt. Pleasant UMC.

She was preceded in death by her mother Mary Lou Stokes and father Peter "PJ" Stokes a sister Darlene Stokes and grandchild Kamilah Scott

She leaves behind to cherish her precious memories three children, Terrence (Tiffany) Adams, Travis Adams and Tiffany Adams and one granddaughter Kaidence "KK" Gilliard

Four sisters, Joann Mitchell. Cynthia Stokes Gloria Salley and Carlisa Stokes and a host of many relatives cousins and friends.
