Louise Jordan Obituary

Mrs. Louise Frazier Stanfield Jordan was born on March 22, 1940, to the late Brent Frazier and Bessie Frazier in the rich Lowcountry soil of Colleton County, South Carolina. Rooted in faith, strength, and quiet dignity, she lived a life that reflected the resilience and sacred beauty of the Gullah roots from which she came.

On May 8, 2026, Louise heard the gentle call of her Master, and in humble peace she transitioned from labor into eternal rest, safely cradled in the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Earth lost a mighty woman, but Heaven gained a matriarch.

Affectionately known as “Mother Jordan” to her church family, and “Wea” to those closest to her heart, she possessed a presence that could make any room stand to attention. She was graceful, sharp-witted, honest to the bone, and entirely herself at all times. Mother Jordan believed truth ought to be spoken plainly, and no one ever had to wonder where she stood. Yet beneath that boldness lived deep compassion, fierce loyalty, and a love that covered generations.

Louise was educated in the public schools of Colleton County. For many years, she was employed as a domestic worker, serving and caring for other families with excellence and integrity. Though the world often overlooks such labor, Louise carried it with unmatched dignity and pride. Her hands helped build homes, nurture children, and sustain communities, all while sacrificially providing for her own family. She understood that honest work was honorable work. Because of the strength of her sacrifice, her children and descendants rise today and call her blessed.

A woman of abiding faith, Louise was a devoted member of Adams Memorial Temple under the leadership of Pastor Leonard Youmans, and later under Pastor JoAnn Youmans, who became not only her pastor but also a cherished friend and spiritual confidante. For many years she served faithfully in ministry and served as church secretary for over 30 years. Later, she united with Power of Faith Deliverance Ministry under the leadership of Pastor Nancy Goff, where she served dutifully as Church Mother. She remained steadfast in her devotion to God and His people until the Lord called her home.

For a season of her life, Louise was joined in holy matrimony to the late Lonnie Stanfield, and from that union six children were born. He preceded her in death. She was later united in holy matrimony to the late Randolph Jordan, who also preceded her in death. She was preceded in death by two children, Charlie and Bessie Mae.

Mrs. Jordan leaves a treasured legacy in the lives of those who loved her most. Her legacy is carried on by her beloved children: Lonnie Stanfield of Walterboro, South Carolina; Clarence Stanfield( Janet) of Hampton, Virginia; Rose Stanfield of Walterboro, South Carolina Jenny Stanfield of Walterboro, South Carolina; two nieces whom she loved and raised as daughters, Juanita Harvey and Audrey Polite (Ralph)  seven grandchildren: Richard Standfield, Lyndell Jones, Dominique Jones, Leonard Stanfield, Darrel Stanfield, Clarence “C.J.” Stanfield Jr., Akela Dogbe (Kelali); thirteen great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Edward Jordan; sisters-in-law Rev. Betty Hopkins (Craig), Mary Johnson, and Linell Dollman; as well as a host of extended family, spiritual children, dear friends, and loved ones whose lives were forever shaped by her wisdom, prayers, laughter, and enduring love.

Mother Jordan’s life was not measured by wealth or worldly titles, but by the extraordinary way she loved, served, endured, and believed. She was a queen in every sense that mattered. Her crown was forged in faith, sacrifice, motherhood, and grace. And though her hands are now folded in eternal rest, the legacy those hands wrought will live on for generations to come.
