Mr. Kwesi Thompson, son of the late Mr. Robert Lee and Pauline Thompson, was born in Charleston, South Carolina. He transitioned for labor to reward on December 18, 2022.
Kwesi was raised in Colleton County. He graduated from Walterboro High School, Class of 2000. In 2005, Kwesi relocated to Columbia, Maryland to embark on a new journey in his life.
Kwesi worked for Goodwill Industries in Columbia, Maryland. His hobbies included playing video games, cooking, eating, bike riding on trails, and rebuilding RC cars. Kwesi had a special place in his heart for the neighborhood children, with whom he enjoyed racing his RC cars. Known for being big, strong, and courageous, anytime a helping hand was needed, Kwesi always made himself available for family and friends.
Preceded in death by his parents, Kwesi leaves to cherish his memory, one son, Kwesi (DJ) Thompson, a long term girlfriend, Ms. Latanya Jeffery and her three loving children, Jasmine Hood, Tamia Hood, Tilton Hood, III (whom he helped rear) all of Columbia, Maryland; his siblings: Thomas Preston, Sr., (Mary-Louis), of Fayetteville, NC, William Williams, of Columbia, SC, Lena Gant, of Walterboro, SC, Alexia Singleton (Bernard) of Columbia, MD, Penny Gantt (Randy) of Walterboro, SC, Anna Thompson, of Columbia, MD, Jaquan Thompson (Dedra) of Randallstown, MD, Tikki Calloway (Terrence) of Walterboro, SC, Natachi Thompson of Clarksville, Indiana; two step-brothers: Douglas Wilison of North Carolina, Brian Thompson of Baltimore, MD; one stepsister, Phanorris Artis of York, PA. Godmother, Mrs. Lue-Ann Adams of Walterboro; one Aunt Mrs. Daisy Brock of Cottageville, SC; and a host of nieces, grand-nieces, nephews, grand-nephews, cousins, and friends.
