Kit Darnell Youngblood entered this earthly dwelling on September 20, 1979 to Angela D. Youngblood of Walterboro, SC and the late Herbert L. Mitchell of Yemassee, SC. Kit was reared in the family home with his mother, grandmother and uncles who also considered him a brother.
Kit was affectionately known as “Cooter man” a name given by his late grandfather Levi Youngblood,Sr. and also “Tater” a name given to him by the late Leon “Red” Bennett. Kit loved to play checkers, video games and loved a good game of cards with his friends. Kit was well known around town and surrounding areas and would give you the shirt off his back.
Kit attended the Colleton County Schools and graduated from Walterboro High School in 1998.
Kit completed his journey on earth December 16, 2021 at MUSC in Charleston, SC. Preceding him in death was his father Mr. Herbert L. Mitchell; maternal grandparents Mr. Levi Youngblood, Sr, and Mrs. Bertha Blue Youngblood; his paternal grandparents Mr. John Mitchell and Mrs. Della Mae Mitchell
He leaves to mourn his memories: mother Angela D.Youngblood of Walterboro,Sc; his sister April Mitchell Lang of Beaufort, SC; brother Herbert L. Mitchell of Yemassee, SC; Uncles: Terry D. Youngblood of Walterboro, SC; Donald Youngblood of Walterboro, SC and Eldonis (Angeleac) Youngblood of Summerville, SC; Aunts: Rebecca Elliott, of Yemassee, SC; Dianne Lyle of Stone Mountain, GA; Earline Mitchell of Yemassee, SC ; Regina Mitchell of Rittter, SC and Great Uncle Seymour (Rev. Josephine) Mitchell of Yemassee, SC and a host of aunts, uncles, relatives and friends.
