Johnnie Lee Washington, affectionately known as Wash, the son of the late William Moses Washington and Mary M. Dukes Washington, was born August 11, 1953, in Summerville, SC. He entered into eternal rest on November 2, 2024, at Coastal Carolina Hospital, in Hardeeville, SC.
The youngest son of eleven children, Johnnie, received his formal education in the public schools of Colleton County and graduated from Walterboro High School in 1973.
For more than twenty plus years, Johnnie, was employed with Republic Waste & Recycling, now known as Coastal Waste and Recycling Inc, where he was recognized many times for his outstanding job performances.
Johnnie was a lover of family, especially his nieces and nephews, and loved listening to music! He has a passion for dubbing cassette tapes and collecting albums of oldies. Johnnie also had a love for basketball. In this school days he was an Allstar Player and would often challenge his nephews. He was a dedicated player on his high school varsity team!
