Mr. Jerry Lee Aiken, son of the late Martha Mitchell Aiken and Levi Aiken was born March 27, 1942, in Walterboro, South Carolina and entered into eternal rest on Thursday, February 24, 2022, at his residence.
Mr. Aiken (better known as Barnaby Jones) joined Cypress Creek Baptist Church at an early age. He attended the public schools of Colleton County. He was employed in the logging business for many years. He loved his family and loved to take them fishing. Jerry Lee could always be seen around town riding his bicycle. Being such an outgoing and friendly person, he was loved in the community. He never met a stranger and always greeted you with a smile. Mr. Aiken will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Mr. Aiken was united in holy matrimony to Bessie M. Daniels (who preceded him in death) and to this union one daughter was born and he gained two sons. He later married Maggie (Dimples) Campbell. His two sisters, Idella Washington and Willie Mae Green preceded him in death and his brother-in-law, Henry L. Daniels.
Those left to cherish his memories include his wife, Maggie (Dimples) Aiken of the home, one loving daughter, Sophia L. Hamilton, Walterboro, SC; two sons, Leon (Theresa) Daniels, Walterboro, SC, and Leon (Mae) Daniels of Haines City, FL; three devoted granddaughters, Danielle (Jerome) Sanders, Tina (Thomas) Murray and Brianna Lawton; four grandchildren, Jayden, Chemere, Tiana and Angel; one brother-in-law, Lonnie Daniels, Jr., Walterboro, SC; three sisters-in-law: Earlene D.
