James Rivers, Sr.

Mr. James Rivers was born on July 22, 1948 and transitioned this life on January 24, 2023. He raised in a loving family by his Father Jonas and Mother Ora Lee Rivers along with two sisters Gwendolyn and Brenda and two brothers, Julius Larry and Alexander in the Bronx, New York. 

James attended Samuel Goompers High School and graduated in 1966.  James being the free spirit that he was worked several jobs after graduation. One of his positions, was working at the Department of Defense, where he met and later married Constance Rivers in Jauary 17, 1970. Later in life, James transitioned to the United States Postal Service where he ended and retired from his career as a mailman.

He was proceeded in death by his father Jonas Rivers and mother Ora Lee Rivers, one brother Julius Rivers, and two sisters,  Gwendolyn Rivers and Brenda Murphy-Boyd.

James leaves to cherish his memories; his children, Reeshamah Rivers, James Malcom Rivers, II, Timothy, Daryl and Michelle. Six grandchildren Tyrell, Janell, Brooklyn, Zoe, De'Ajah and Denim. Two brothers Larry Rivers and Alexander Rivers. He also leaves an assortment of neices nephews, Melissa, Nathan, Sheanah, Karimah, Keena, Kashif, Tannia, Monique, Taron, Jasmine and Brean, and a host of loving family members and friends.
