Isaiah Smith Jr., affectionately known as “Zack” or “Tony,” was born to Isaiah Smith Jr., and Mary Carolyn Mears Smith of Islandton, South Carolina. The oldest of three boys—-Lonnie and Ervin Smith being younger, Isaiah excelled in sports growing up playing both basketball and football throughout high school. After graduation, Isaiah enrolled in the Marines Reserves, and started his career as a machine operator at Dayco plant in Walterboro, SC. It was around this time in 1989 that he met Letha Mae Brown of Walterboro, his now wife of 36 years. At the time, Letha had a son named Christopher, whom he took on as his own child. They married that same year. In 1991, the couple welcomed their first child together and daddy’s girl, Kayla Theresa Symone Smith, and in 1993, Antonio Reshion Smith. Isaiah continued his career at CCX until a near fatal car accident took him out of the corporate career work force.
Determined to continue to stay busy and provide for his family, Isiah worked as a local lawncare and pressure wash specialist, and an all around repairman. In his free time, he enjoyed watching the Steelers play, spending time with his wife, three kids, four grandkids, and close friends, and serving in the church at both Faith Walterboro, and Mount Olive Baptist Church.
He is survived by his loving wife Letha Smith, his kids, Christopher Brown, Kayla Richards(Kewaune) Antonio Smith, his grandkids, Kooper(The one who made him Papa), and Kewaune “Bud” Richards, and Tonii and Antonio “TJ” Smith.
