A portrait of her life
Iris Edwards, the daughter of the late Willie Lee and Annie Lee Edwards, was born in Walterboro, South Carolina. Iris attended the Colleton County public school system and was a graduate of Ruffin High School.
After graduation, she attended Clafin College where she obtained her bachelor degree in Education, then she later obtained her Master's Degree in special education from Boston University Wheelock College. Iris taught in the Colleton County schools system for many years. She loved cooking, writing poems and talking on the phone. She was also a member of Judah Temple of Deliverance where she served faithfully.
On Tuesday, May 9, 2023 Iris entered into enternal rest at Colleton Medical Center. She has left a void on this earth however, her portrait of life shall live forever in our hearts.
She was proceeded in death by her mother Annie Lee Edwards, her father Willie Lee Edwards and brother Wille Lee "Pee Wee" Edwards, Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memories; a loving son Donovan Edwards, one sister, Zelda (Benjamin) White, One Godfather Michael Butler, Five Aunts; Mildred Yates, Angie Givens Berthel Broughton, Mabel Brougton, Lula Broughton, One Uncle Apostle Howard Broughton, a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
