Gloria Jean (Ackerman) Tenor

Gloria Jean Ackerman Tenor, of Wesley Grove, South Carolina, passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2024 was born June 30, 1944, in Charleston, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Angus Ackerman and Melissa Brown Ackerman. 

She is survived by her loving sons; Vincent Ackerman (Linda), Samuel Tenor (Johonna) of Summerville, SC and Cornelius Tenor (Spanada) of Middle River, MD. Her son Todd A. Tenor, preceded her in death. She is also survived by her grandchildren Rojshawn D. Barrett, Sade R. Ackerman, Keiliana  M. Ackerman, Todd Tenor Jr, BreJuana Tenor, Saniyya Tenor and Aiden Tenor, six great grands, sisters ; Bernice Geddis of Adams Run, SC, Helen Ackerman of Charlotte, NC, brothers Laury T. Ackerman (Annie) of Dorchester, SC, Howard Ackerman (Marie) Vienna, MD, Amos Ackerman (WillieMae) of Columbia, SC,  Norris McDonald of Syracuse, NY, Aunts Thelma Ackerman of Ruffin, SC and Deloris Ackerman of Brooklyn, NY, and a host of nephews and nieces and cousins.   

Gloria was a caretaker, home maker and an original Uber driver, before Uber was Uber. Before her health failed, she provided transportation for many in Wesley Grove.  Gloria Jean enjoyed going to town, shopping, and the company of her family and friends. She was a great mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend and will truly be missed.
