A Time To Be Born
Calis Brown was born August 4, 1944 in Colleton County, South Carolina. He was the son of the late Ben Brown, Sr. and Lizzie "Cee" Brown. He was affectionately called Elijah by family and friends.
A Time To Live
He was educated in the Colleton County Public School System and was a graduate of Colleton High School Class of 1963 in Walterboro, South Carolina. He was the CEO of Leo Records in Rahway, NJ
A Time To Serve
He served in the Armed Forces of the Unites States (Air Force)
A Time To Love
On October 8, 1988, he was united in holy matrimony to the love of his life, Lenora Love.
A Time For Every Purpose Under the Heavens
Brother Brown confessed Christ at a early age and united with the Red Bank United Methodist Church, Walterboro, SC under the leadership of the late Reverend Marvin Boatwright.
A Time To Die
A ray of sunshine went out of our lives when he traded time for eternity on Thursday May 4, 2023 at his home in Perth Amboy, NJ
A Time To Mourn
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Dianne Brown, two brothers, Jervey Fields and Ben Brown, Jr. and two sisters, Jeannie Mae Utsey and Zadie McPhatter.
He leaves to cherish his memory: a loving wife, Lenora Love-Brown of Perth Amboy, NJ, one daughter, Antonetta Brown (Harry) Hampton of Walterboro, SC, one son, Sean (Aurea) Alexander of Chadds Ford, PA, two grandchildren, Loyal and Olivia Alexander, one sister, Patricia Brown Sumbry of Phenix City, AL, two sister-in-law, Mary Helen Fields of Walterboro and Martha Hodges of Smoaks, SC, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
