Betty Daniels Obituary

Betty Jane Daniels was born in Smoaks, South Carolina on July 14, 1936. She was the oldest of five children born to the late Mattie Daniels (Henry Williams) and Ulysses Crosby.

At an early age she accepted the Lord as her savior and joined Beulah Baptist Church under the leadership of the Late Rev. BS. Scott of Smoaks, South Carolina. Betty was raised in Colleton County where she attended Bethel Elementary. Bethel Middle School and Ruffin High School. She moved to Miami, Fl. Soon after graduating in May of 1960. She attended Lindsey Hopkins Trade school and learned to sew. She then became a waitress at Ranch House Restaurant. Betty finally found her true passion when she began working for Miami Dade County Public Schools as a bus attendant for developmentally delayed children. She retired from the school board in 2000. Keeping God as her foundation she joined First Baptist Church of Brownsville under the leadership of the late Rev L.L. James and she later moved her church home to Second Canaan M.B.C., under the leadership of the late Rev. W.E. Kelly and under the present leadership of Rev. Jeffery L. Mack. She served proudly on the #1 Choir and worked with the Youth Department until her death.

Betty was a loving and nurturing Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and the Matriarch of her family. She left her mark on everyone she encountered. She was well known for her sassiness but we all knew it came from love. She he opened up her heart and home to anyone in need. When she wasn't being sassy and cooking, you could find her with a word search puzzle or watching Perry Mason reruns. Most of all, Betty liked to spend time with her family.
