Azalee B Kelly, the daughter of Govan and Lillian Gaddis Brown, was born July 17, 1928, and entered eternal rest January 8, 2021.
A time to scatter stones and a time to gather them…
Azalee was educated in the community. She was the local hairdresser and clothes presser. She retired from Reed’s Dry Cleaners.
A time to be silent and a time to speak…
Azalee attended Bright Light Baptist Church in Brooklyn, New York and upon arrival back in Colleton County, she became a member of Oakman Branch Missionary Baptist Church. Azalee served as one of the nurses to the Pastor then later became the Captain of the kitchen committee.
A time to mourn…
Azalee was preceded in death by her husband Willis Kelly, three brothers James (Son) Brown, Willie Brown, and Jerome (Jay) Brown, three sisters Effie Hicks, Valaree Williams, and Estell Johnson. One sister in law Even Coops. She leaves to mourn one child that her and Willis raised Denise (Clifford) Williams, three grandchildren Michael Brown, Ronni (Jessie) Harris, and Courtney Barnett, twelve great grandchildren, one great great grand children; four sisters Elizabeth Setti, Nellie McCloud, Catherine Williams, and Florence Nesmith. Two sister in laws Elease Brown and Jacqueline Brown. A dedicated niece Renee Edwards and a host nieces, nephews, and other family.
