Ms. Annette Sanders, daughter of the late Deacon Benjamin Sanders and Deaconess Wilhelmenia Holmes Sanders, was born on July 18, 1954, in Round O, South Carolina. She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church. Annette graduated from Walterboro High School in 1973 and relocated to New York that same year. She attended Green Pastures Baptist Church and later joined Mars Hill Baptist Church in the Bronx, New York. Annette faithfully attended Sunday services at the Workmen’s Circle Rehabilitation Center and dedicated twenty-five years of service as a certified nursing assistant until her retirement.
Annette was a true prayer warrior who prayed daily with her mother. Her favorite scripture was the 23rd Psalm, and her favorite song was “At the Cross.” She found great joy in playing bingo, drawing, participating in art activities, dancing, and listening to gospel music. Above all, she cherished spending time and talking with her family.
On Tuesday, March 11, 2026, Annette peacefully transitioned to be with the Lord at the age of 71. She was preceded in death by her father, Benjamin Sanders. Annette Sanders leaves to cherish her memory her loving and devoted mother, Wilhelmenia Sanders; two daughters, Tyiesha Sanders and Jasmine Sanders of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and two grandchildren, Tyshawn Wright and Ameerah Bell. She is also survived by five siblings: Cora Wilson (Mass), Helen Hall (Anthony), Liz Brown, Danny Sanders (Sherry), and Jennifer Sanders-Vidal (Joseph). Her memory will also be cherished by four aunts, Maggie Griffin, Christine Robinson (Johnny), Biddie Sanders, and Eartha Holmes; one uncle, Randy Coltrane; one grand-uncle, Quincey Magwood (Elaine); two grand-aunts, Mabel Williams and Dorothy Magwood; a goddaughter, Iesha Brown; a best friend, Julie Garcia; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
